Children's Book Week
Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia,
and will be celebrating its 69th birthday in 2014.
The first Australian Children's Book of the Year Award was made in 1946.
Each year schools and public libraries all over Australia celebrate books,
Australian authors and illustrators and the love of reading.
Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians develop activities,
competitions and tell stories to encourage children to read and explore literature.
Go to the CBCA Shortlist to see which Australian books have made it to the Shortlist for Books of the Year.
Book Week 2015 will be held August 22 -28
The theme for 2015 is
