The Premier's Reading Challenge is an initiative from the NSW's Premier's Department to encourage children to read and is open to all students from Kinder to Year 6 at our school.
Well done to all who participated in the Premier's Reading Challenge and congratulations especially to those students who completed the 2019 Challenge.
The log sheets have been tallied, results have been entered and input. A record total of 396 students from kindergarten to Year 6 at APS successfully completed the challenge last year. A fantastic effort ! WELL DONE !!!

Premier's Reading Challenge 2020
The PRC for 2020 is well under way. It commenced Monday 2nd March and is open until Friday 28th August. Students are encouraged to record all books that they have read and are currently reading. Students from years 3 to 6, all have personal record sheets available in the library.But they are encouraged to record their books directly online at the PRC site.
The students will be able to enter their own books online by logging on using their school user name and password and following this procedure:

Go to NSW Premiers Reading Challenge
- Log on using your APS user name and password Click submit.
- A new page will appear. From the left hand side choose Student Reading Records.
- A new page will appear called Proxy Student Reading Record. Fill in these boxes only

- Grade Use the dropdown box and click on the grade you are in
- Challenge Level All
- Last Participation All Years
- Leave all the rest blank
- Then click the Search button.
A new page will appear containing a list of all the children in your year.
- Click Select at the end of the line with your name on it.
A new page will appear
- Click Add at the end of the page to add your books.
Another new page will appear for you to add your books.
You need to click Add after you enter each book.
The system will only allow you to enter 5 books that are not part of the Challenge.
The books will be arranged in alphabetical order as you enter them.
When you have entered 20 books it will say "congratulations".
You have completed the Premiers Reading Challenge.
You do not need to enter all your books at once. You can add them at any time.
Entries must be finalised by 28th August so they can be validated by Sensei Davey and then
submitted.
